Sumsaren Game Reserve is situated in dense bushveld and mountainous terrain in the North West Province of South Africa, and about 35 km (22 miles) from the Botswana border. They conduct thrilling Dangerous Game Safaris, with lion hunts taking place only 10 miles (18km) away from the Main Lodge. Kalahari lion hunts are conducted only 100 miles (160km) away, with a minimum of travels to various hunting destinations, and more hunting.
 
Dangerous and Plains Game Hunting species available include Lion, Buffalo,  Baboon, Blesbuck, Blesbuck White, Bushbuck (Limpopo), Duiker Grey, Eland Cape, Gemsbuck Oryx, Giraffe, Hartebeest Red, Impala Southern, Klipspringer, Kudu Greater, Lechwe Red, Lynx Caracal, Mountain Reedbuck, Nyala, Ostrich, Springbuck, Springbuck Black, Springbuck White, Steenbuck, Vervet Monkey, Waterbuck, Warthog, Wildebeest Blue, Wildebeest Black, Zebra Burchells. Dangerous game (Big 5 including Hippo).

They offer excellent Bow Hunting facilities, with some of the best bow hides blending in perfectly with the surrounding bush. Various blinds are available, from anthill look-alikes, carpeted blinds, and pitt blinds to tree stands (platforms) and grass blinds. The hides with camera ports can accomodate at least 3 people.
